The General Public: Where New American Cuisine Meets Trendy Vibes

Yesterday was my 18th birthday, and it was my first time dining in such a place filled with calmness and serenity. It was different from all the other restaurants that I have been to. This one was quite unique with its Black and White Zigzag floor, and its vintage trinkets and decor. I quite loved the atmosphere and the overall aesthetic of it. Our service at the restaurant was excellent! Our server for the night, Alyssa. P, was very helpful and understanding. She made me feel calmer and safe knowing that tonight was the night that I was going to remember for years to come. I do appreciate her work ethic and quickness during her time as our server, so I appreciate her dedication and as well as her professionalism. So tell her that she is very much appreciated! The food was very delicious! The Chicken Sandwich with hand-cut fries was crispy and savory! The TGH sauce was also very tasty and that too was great. I had an amazing experience with you guys at The General Public! And I hope to dinner there again soon! Thanks for making my special day rememberable!

Great spot for lunch, dinner, or drinks. They also have brunch but I haven't tried it. The food is great and the atmosphere is nice. Great buildout. Great service. Their bar area is a really nice setup, with an old school style U shaped bar. Very social setup. Good lunch specials ($12). Incredible chicken sandwich. Great spot for happy hour, half price on certain drinks and appetizers.

Looking for a quick bite after a movie and this place stayed open till midnight. We arrived at 11:24p and the kitchen closed at 11:30p. The bartender was a little standoffish at first, but warmed up later. Food was cooked fresh and hot and the drinks were delicious. Thanks for taking us last minute-next time we’ll come earlier.

We've eaten here for about 3 date nights. The service is not always top notch, and they can be slow even when not busy. But the food and drinks make up for it. They have unique and delicious choices with craft cocktails that are fantastic!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Great Happy Hour at The General Public! Stopped by The General Public for happy hour with coworkers and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Tiki Punch and it was delicious—refreshing, fruity, and just the right amount of sweet without being overpowering. Perfect happy-hour drink. I also had the Shrimp & Avocado Salad, which was super fresh and flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, the avocado was creamy, and the whole dish felt light but satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was friendly, and the prices during happy hour made it even better. Definitely a spot I’ll come back to!

We went here for the first time on Valentine's Day and enjoyed our food a lot. We ate the Empanadas for an appetizer which were very tasty with the jalapeno sauce And we both ate fish and chips which I get whenever they are on the menu. These did not disappoint the fish was perfect and loved the hand cut fries. The place was a little empty but we went at 4pm which is not a prime time anyway. Service was okay, for it to be pretty empty, we should not have had to have flag down a waiter other than our own for water refills and our pay settlement. They offered complimentary champagne because it was Valentine's Day which was a nice gesture. Overall we did enjoy ourselves despite the small mishaps and we will be back again.

The service here was exceptional from start to finish. Chef Davis prepared our meals to absolute perfection, and Jay crafted drinks that were both strong and flavorful. The ambiance was lively, with a great mix of music enhancing the overall experience. I can’t emphasize enough how impressive both the service and the food were. We will definitely be returning.

Susi was a great server, attentive and gave good suggestions. If you are not a cheese lover, do not recommend the steak sandwich... if you are I recommend. Hush puppies are light and crispy. Fish and chips is a massive portion and even better for $12 during lunch. Would recommend for a fun date night.
